Microsoft Office for Education

Free Office for Students with .edu email

If you are trying to download applications through a student account (.edu email), some schools pay for students to have downloaded applications on their desktops; most have a less-expensive version that only uses the online apps. Do you know which your school is using?

Look in your portal to see which apps are authorized for your plan. Here is mine.

Here is another student's that includes the desktop applications:

Discounted for Students - not free but very cheap!

There is also a 4-year deep discount subscription to Office 365 available for many students as well. This can be available even if your school's plan  does not give you access to the desktop applicatons.
Even if you have free use at your current school, you may want to take advantage of this while you still have an .edu email. The license will last after your student status ends. I currently have that as my Office 365 subscription (as staff, not student).

Recent Grads / Alumni - discount

Also available for recent grads/alumni may be a 1-year subscription to Office 365 Personal for $12.00.
See https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/alumni-discount.
